How to Calculate TDS?

Formula:

Taxable income (up to fixed slabs as per your income declared in e-TDSin FY for FY. You will get this from YrtoG Payable IGR automatically)

Example:

This formula needs to be clarified so that we can use it as an example of a Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) calculation. Let us assume Mr Ramesh is getting an annual income of Rs. 1,00,000 (these rates are subject to change with every new assessment year).

As per Section 192, the TDS to be deducted from Mr Ramesh’s salary at the rates applicable for the current year works out to Rs. 1,42,500.

This amount makes his total tax payable Rs. 1,48,200 (after adding the 4% education & higher education cess). [ Face Valued] The TDS will be therefore= 12%

(1.48200*12)/12,00,000 = 12.35%

As a result, the TDS that will be deducted from Mr. Rameshs monthly salary will be 12.35 % of Rs. 1,00,000, i.e., Rs. 12500
